As a marriage and family therapist, Mario D’Aliesio synthesizes his many perspectives and applies his passion to treatment for couples, families and youth in adolescent behavior, family problems, adult and youth addiction, abuse and depression. His goal is to help addicts find alternative ways to soothe anxiety and help individuals break shame cycles, finding patterns of behavior in order to reveal the right path and move forward.

Experience & Education

With more than twenty years of experience in the field of psychotherapy and addiction treatment for active duty military, veterans, teens, couples and individuals, Mario D’Aliesio’s unique experience and talents have made him an expert in identifying and treating PTSD, oppositional defiance disorder and bipolar disorder, as well as depression, anxiety and substance use disorders, including pathological gambling and sexual compulsivity.

Mario began his career in the United States Navy, where he served as the Director of the Counseling and Assistance Center aboard the USS JOHN C. STENNIS, providing group therapy for alcoholism and addiction. He also worked as the Division Head of the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) and the Branch Head for all Non-medical Behavioral Health Programs at Camp Pendleton. He has helped thousands of active duty Marines suffering from combat-induced trauma to rehabilitate into civilian and family life.

Mario earned his Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resources from Chapman University. He is licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist and holds certifications as an Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Counseling Clinical Supervisor through the U. S. Navy’s certifying body. Mario is also an Adjunct Professor at UC San Diego in the Alcohol and Drug Studies Certification Program and volunteers as director and advisor of the Teen Group at InSpirit Center for Spiritual Living - Orange County.
