Comfort and trust are fundamental to Jonathan’s therapeutic philosophy. His approach is tailored to each client’s specific needs, comfort level, and familiarity with therapy, but always rooted in empathy and creating a safe space for sharing experiences and working through challenges. Jonathan considers therapy a process that enhances a person’s strengths by increasing self-compassion and reducing the psychological barriers to self-awareness and personal empowerment. Jonathan is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Seeking Safety. Using a combination of Narrative and Solution-Focused therapies, Jonathan approaches sessions in a conversational style, gently assisting his clients to identify their personal strengths and any barriers or triggers that may be negatively impacting their daily life. He then works together with each client to create goals and develop a personal treatment plan designed to achieve those goals. Jonathan provides counseling therapy to individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, and trauma, as well as the everyday stress of socioeconomic difficulties. He works with a broad range of populations ranging from adolescents to older adults.
