Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Jaycee Edmiston is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who approaches therapy with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for the complexity of each person’s experiences. She believes that therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative and judgement-free space where patients feel safe to express who they are and how they feel. In this environment, Jaycee recognizes that her patients gain the confidence to better understand themselves, develop greater self-compassion, and navigate difficult experiences with both acceptance and intention.
Jaycee's approach to therapy is based on strengthening each patient's understanding of themself. She does this by helping patients explore the meaning they make from their experiences, develop acceptance of pain and uncertainty, and identify the values that can guide them toward meaningful change. She incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to provide patients with practical skills for managing difficult emotions, breaking free from rigid patterns, and developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Jaycee works with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, self-esteem and self-worth, grief and loss, chronic illness, and disordered eating. To meet each patient's specific needs and schedule, she offers both in-person and remote telehealth therapy sessions.
Education & Experience
Jaycee earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Her clinical experience includes private practice, intensive outpatient, residential, and community-based mental health settings. She has extensive experience with both adults and adolescents in residential settings, specifically with adults experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns, as well as adolescent females in residential treatment experiencing mood disorders, substance use concerns, and disordered eating.
Jaycee's clinical skills and background include specialized training in treating eating disorders, facilitating skills-based group therapy, and safety planning as crisis intervention. Her private practice experience includes individual therapy with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, health conditions, life transitions, and complex interpersonal relationships.
Prior to entering the mental health field, Jaycee spent nearly a decade in the entertainment industry, including several years at Paramount Pictures as a Senior Digital Publicist. Her diverse professional background contributes to the thoughtful, adaptable approach she brings to her clinical work.
