Randi Kofsky, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Randi Kofsky, LMFT, works with adults of all ages through individual and couples therapy, helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape how they move through life. Her approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with becoming more aware of what is happening within us emotionally, physically, and relationally. She is especially interested in the connection between the mind and body and how that interplay can influence overall contentment. Randi also works with clients navigating social anxiety, chronic pain and GI-related concerns, intrusive or obsessive thoughts, self-criticism, procrastination, and questions surrounding alcohol or substance use.
Randi uses a somatic, experiential, and dynamic approach that draws from Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), Gestalt therapy, and the Trauma Resiliency Model. Her work is grounded in the here and now, allowing clients to explore what is happening emotionally and physically in the moment and how those experiences may influence their interactions with partners, family, friends, and colleagues. With couples, she works with dating, engaged, and married partners navigating a variety of difficulties. She is trained in the Couples Institute’s Developmental Model, Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy, and Prepare/Enrich, and helps couples move beyond unwanted patterns toward greater clarity, connection, and fulfillment.
Randi believes therapy is a shared process in which both therapist and client actively participate in creating the conditions for healing and growth. She stays present with what is unfolding moment to moment, using gentle confrontation, warmth, support, and humor when appropriate to help clients work toward their goals. Her aim is not simply to help clients manage symptoms, but to help them better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful and lasting change.
Education & Experience
Randi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University and her Master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Francisco State University. She has worked in the mental health field since 2012 and brings more than 20 years of experience as a mind-body practitioner to her clinical work. Her extensive experience and training inform an integrative approach that considers the whole person and the complex relationship between emotional well-being, the body, and interpersonal connection.
