Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Anstiss Perez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who believes therapy is not about changing who you are -- it's about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences, and the patterns that influence your life. Through greater self-awareness discovered during the therapeutic process, Anstiss believes that patients gain the insight and support to make the choices that align with their values and create meaningful, lasting change.

Anstiss works with children, teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While she enjoys working with clients of all ages, she has extensive experience supporting children and families and understands the unique challenges that can arise at every stage of development. She is passionate about helping clients build insight, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools to navigate life's obstacles with greater confidence.

Known for her approachable and collaborative style, Anstiss strives to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves. She believes therapy should feel supportive and empowering rather than intimidating, and she works alongside her clients to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors without judgment. Whether a client is struggling with anxiety, navigating a major life transition, facing relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, Anstiss helps them identify patterns, explore new perspectives, and move toward the life they want to create.

Her therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Gottman-informed interventions. She values practical strategies that clients can apply in everyday life while also creating space for deeper reflection, personal growth, and healing.

When she is not working with clients, Anstiss enjoys traveling, attending Pilates classes, spending time with her dog, and unwinding with reality TV.

Education & Experience

Anstiss earned her Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandman University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. Her wide array of experience in the field includes school-based, community mental health, and private practice settings.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Anstiss spent nearly a decade working with children and families in leadership roles within childcare programs, giving her over thirteen years of experience supporting youth and caregivers. She has also worked in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) settings, further strengthening her understanding of neurodiversity and family systems. These experiences have shaped her practical, family-centered approach and continue to inform her work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Anstiss has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and continues to pursue opportunities for professional growth and advanced clinical training.
