Kristina Nunez, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Nunez is a licensed clinical psychologist who treats adults, adolescents, families, and couples. Her therapeutic approach can be described as thoughtful, collaborative, and multicultural. Dr. Nunez firmly believes that people are experts of their own lives and experiences. As such, she takes extreme care to respect each client’s unique identity, experiences, and perspectives as she works alongside them to help them heal and grow. Using a collaborative and supportive approach, Dr. Nunez guides and assists her clients in exploring how the many different parts of who they are contribute to how they experience the world and relate to others, as well as how those experiences and perceptions play a critical role in their psychological well-being.

Dr. Nunez offers a safe space for clients to show up authentically and work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that is specific to their therapeutic and personal goals. She will use her training and knowledge to provide therapeutic recommendations and techniques to help guide each client and support them to make progress towards accomplishing their goals.

Education & Experience

Dr. Nunez holds both a doctorate degree and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. Her graduate level training is accredited by the American Psychological Association. She has extensive experience providing psychological testing as well as psychotherapy to individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and has worked with a wide range of mental health issues across a variety of treatment sites including in-patient hospitalization programs and university counseling centers. Dr. Nunez also has specialized training and experience treating individuals suffering from mild to severe eating disorders. Dr. Nunez employs a wide range of science-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy for families and couples, and Exposure Response Prevention interventions for anxiety and eating disorders. Dr. Nunez enjoys working with adolescents, college students and young adults, adults, couples, and families. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, eating disorders, multiculturalism, woman's issues, LGBTQIA+, exposure response prevention, and psychological testing.
