As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Lisa McCurry is committed to helping her clients understand their core emotional issues, identify their strengths, and move forward towards growth, insight, and self-compassion. Lisa has seen the power of healing through secure relationships, so she strives to provide a safe, authentic, and attuned therapeutic space for her clients to promote transformation and growth.
Lisa employs a Rogerian approach, empowering and motivating her clients to move forward with unconditional positive regard, while also utilizing evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT). Lisa takes pride in developing an individualized treatment plan for every client to best match their specific needs and therapy goals.
Education & Experience
Lisa earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University, Irvine. Lisa’s professional experience includes working in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, psychosis, and substance use disorders.
With a passion for clinical development and training, Lisa has held positions as a Clinical Director at a residential treatment center and she served as an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department at Concordia University in Irvine.
Lisa currently works with individuals ages 16+ and provides both in-person and telehealth sessions.
