Alpa A. Bajaj, PsyD
Dr. Bajaj is committed to working with families and individuals with chronic health conditions including diabetes, cancer, and other challenging health diagnoses that impact a patient and their family system. She has experience working with patients navigating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and major life adjustments. She has provided support to those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic regarding social and emotional difficulties related to adjusting during these current times.
Education & Experience
Dr. Bajaj received her Doctorate and Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Her dissertation focused on Family Dynamics and Communication Patterns in the South-Asian Community. She has presented her research at Kaiser Permanente, AAMFT-CA, South Asian Mental Health Conferences, and agencies specific to the South Asian community. Through her research and teaching experiences, she enjoys working with diverse populations within the community, understanding their narratives and promoting avenues for increased communication and effectiveness in family interactions.
Over Dr. Bajaj’s 15-year career, she has worked in multiple clinical and academic settings. Her clinical experiences extend from private practices, inpatient mental health, hospital settings such as Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, and a university campus health center in Southern California. Her academic experiences include multiple administrative roles, most recently as Associate Dean in the School of Behavioral Sciences at California Southern University. Currently, she is teaching courses such as cultural diversity and community practice preparations at Alliant International University.
