Erica Lehman, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Erica Lehman is a licensed psychologist. She works with clients age 18 and over. She has specialized training and experience in working with older adults, a field known as Geropsychology. Dr. Lehman takes a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to therapy, meaning that she considers how factors such as physical health, life stage, medications, level of social support, access to resources, and spiritual beliefs impact one's emotional well-being and day to day functioning. She works to quickly identify with the client the problem that brought him/her into therapy and to create measurable goals toward healing using evidence-based approaches.

In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Lehman completes brief memory evaluations to address the frequent question, “Is this normal memory change or is it something more?” Addressing this question can be stressful, and Dr. Lehman works to bring a grounding approach.

Dr. Lehman has a passion for partnering with clients through challenges and life transitions. She understands that we face unique changes with each life stage, and she empowers her clients to recognize and embrace the opportunity for change and growth presented by life’s challenges.

Education & Experience

Dr. Lehman holds a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois, an APA-accredited program focused on supporting underserved populations. This program was formulative in Dr. Lehman’s professional approach, that all individuals have intrinsic value and purpose and that we are not meant to face life's challenges alone.

Part of that program included coursework on integrating a client’s faith into therapy. Dr. Lehman works to make space for the strengths and resiliency that research shows can come from drawing upon faith and spirituality, while also making safe space for clients to choose how/what they engage.

Dr. Lehman aims to be a life-long learner, both in her desire to provide quality care and appropriate resources for her patients as well as in understanding that the therapy relationship; recognizing that the therapist also grows from being a part of the client's healing process. She values authenticity, respect and compassion, which clients experience while meeting with her.
