Leonor is described as empathetic, compassionate, and dedicated to helping her clients work through the most difficult and challenging experiences and discover their own unique inner strengths. She believes strongly that connection between therapist and client is key to promoting healing and personal growth in the therapy process. Her open and authentic style and genuine desire to help others easily builds the trust necessary for her clients to uncover, openly discuss, and work through a wide array of challenges. Leonor offers culturally-sensitive services and is bilingual, providing therapy in Spanish as well as English.

Education & Experience

Leonor holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Cal State Fullerton. She has worked in a wide variety of professional settings including community-based health clinics, school districts, and county behavioral health agencies. Leonor has extensive clinical skills and experience working with both adults and children who struggle with depression, anxiety, OCD, post-traumatic stress, family conflict, or life transitions. Prior to her work in the field of psychology, Leonor enjoyed a successful career in Cytogenetics where she analyzed human cells for signs of abnormalities and disease. Leonor finds her knowledge of the brain and human biology helpful in educating her clients about why they may feel or act as they do. She is trained in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) as well as FFT and PCIT for families.
